Although Brian Flores announced Tuesday that Ryan Fitzpatrick would start at San Francisco, the Tua Tagovailoa Watch is back on after Fitz engineered one touchdown drive (in what amounted to garbage time) and was picked off twice in last week’s home loss to Seattle. Fitzpatrick projects as a boom-bust streamer here; San Francisco’s injury-ravaged defense has largely held together but faced three of the NFL’s most broken offenses over the past three weeks (NYJ, NYG, PHI), while Fitzpatrick is a streaky producer with high highs and low lows at some risk of being benched.
