Philadelphia @ Washington
Team Totals: Eagles 24.5, Washington 18.5
Even after an injury-riddled camp, the Eagles should handle an already dysfunctional Washington team that experienced an extraordinarily distraction-laden offseason. Washington’s front office and coaching staff are almost entirely new, the club finally caved into changing its racist nickname, owner Dan Snyder was outed by the Washington Post for fostering an organizational culture wherein sexual harassment was all but encouraged, and Ron Rivera was diagnosed with lymph-node cancer in August. With Philly favored by six, game script projects favorably for Miles Sanders, who creamed Washington for 172 yards and two TDs on 25 touches (six catches) last Week 15. Philly’s rash of pass-catcher and offensive-line injuries could lead to more receptions for Sanders, especially as a means of circumventing Washington’s loaded defensive front.
