It’s only a matter of time before first-round pick Jaxson Dart replaces long-washed 36-year-old Russell Wilson behind center, and that change could come as soon as Week 1. In three preseason appearances, Dart completed 32 of 47 passes (68%) for 372 yards (7.9 YPA), three touchdowns, and no picks and ran six times for 52 yards with an additional score. Brandon Thorn ranks the Giants’ offensive line as a bottom-six unit, while LT Andrew Thomas is highly unlikely to be 100% coming off Lisfranc foot surgery. I would rather tee up Washington’s D/ST than Wilson in this spot. … Fourth-round rookie Cam Skattebo missed over half of camp with a hamstring pull, solidifying Tyrone Tracy Jr. as New York’s feature back to begin the year. Skattebo may even start out behind journeyman Devin Singletary, a Brian Daboll confidant. Commanders HC Dan Quinn’s 2024 defense yielded the NFL’s 10th-most fantasy points to running backs, and this year’s Washington defensive front seven is unimposing. I like the Giants’ chances of keeping this game close enough to cover the 5.5/6.0-point spread, a scenario that would benefit Tracy’s volume projection.
