N.Y. Giants @ Dallas
Team Totals: Cowboys 27.5, Giants 11
With the Giants missing starting QB Daniel Jones (ACL), No. 2 QB Tyrod Taylor (rib, I.R.), top pass catcher Darren Waller (hamstring I.R.), and RT Evan Neal (ankles), the Cowboys should tee off on rookie Tommy DeVito, a mediocre college starter at Syracuse and Illinois before going undrafted. … In his last four meetings with Cowboys DC Dan Quinn, Saquon Barkley has managed 221 yards on 52 carries (4.2 YPC) and 23.5 receiving yards per game. In a worst-case offensive environment, I’m downgrading Barkley to a volume-based RB2 starter. … DeVito has delivered 27 passes in the NFL. Six have gone to Barkley. Darius Slayton and Wan’Dale Robinson have drawn five apiece. Daniel Bellinger and Jalin Hyatt each saw three. Especially at Dallas, I have no faith in DeVito supporting a single fantasy-viable pass catcher.
On an absolute roll over his last three games, Dak Prescott combined to carve up the Chargers, Rams, and Eagles consecutively for 75-of-105 passing (71.4%), 950 yards (9.1 YPA), an 8:1 TD-to-INT ratio, and 17/73/1 rushing. He was a demon on out-of-structure, second-reaction plays against Philly. Prescott is a high-floor, high-ceiling QB1 start against a Giants defense internally fighting after SS Xavier McKinney blasted DC Wink Martindale following last week’s blowout defeat.
