Washington’s defense has fallen off a cliff in Year 2 of Dan Quinn, allowing 6.2 yards per play — third most in the NFL — and the 10th-most points per game (26.2). The Commanders lost top EDGE Dorance Armstrong (ACL) three weeks ago and CB Marshon Lattimore (ACL) last Sunday. I’m still concerned about Jared Goff’s ceiling here; the Lions placed LG Christian Mahogany (knee) on I.R. this week and may or may not have LT Taylor Decker (shoulder, questionable), who didn’t practice on Friday. I normally prefer betting on Goff when he’s indoors and his protection projects as pristine. But all of Goff’s pass catchers are in prime spots against a swinging-gate opponent. … This is a bounce-back opportunity for Jahmyr Gibbs after the Vikings’ high-volume blitzing forced Gibbs to stay in to pass protect on 16 snaps last week. Because he spent so much time pass blocking, Gibbs finished with a year-low 12 touches. Whereas Minnesota blitzes on 41% of defensive plays, Washington blitzes only 25% of the time. … David Montgomery is always a TD-or-bust flex option.
