Predictably productive in Week 1 versus the swiss-cheese Raiders, Carolina is headed for a rude Week 2 awakening against Tampa’s shutdown unit. Bucs DC Todd Bowles’ defense was the best in football down 2019’s stretch and began 2020 with a bang, holding Sean Payton’s hyper-efficient attack to 6.4 yards per pass and 2.4 yards per rush. I would rather start the Bucs’ D/ST than Teddy Bridgewater. … After a 26-touch, 134-yard, two-score opener wherein he played 100% of the Panthers’ offensive downs, Christian McCaffrey affirmed he’ll maintain every-snap treatment under first-year OC Joe Brady. Yet this may be the toughest matchup CMC draws all season; McCaffrey managed yardage totals of 53 and 57 in 2019’s two meetings with Bowles’ defense, saving face in the second only via two all-purpose scores. Although CMC can never be benched in season-long leagues, he is worth fade consideration in Week 2 DFS.
