Carolina @ Atlanta
Team Totals: Falcons 28, Panthers 25.5
Last week’s overall QB4 in Carolina’s upset of Arizona, Teddy Bridgewater has a chance to build on his season-best game beneath Atlanta’s dome after the Falcons were dismantled for top-four QB1 scores in each of the first four weeks. Among the NFL’s biggest pass funnels, Atlanta is holding enemy backs to 3.6 yards per carry while allowing 8.5 yards per pass attempt. No team has yielded more touchdown passes than beleaguered coach Dan Quinn’s (13). The Falcons will play this game without first-round CB A.J. Terrell (Covid), slot CB Darqueze Dennard (hamstring, I.R.), Damontae Kazee (Achilles’), and possibly SS Keanu Neal (hamstring), S Ricardo Allen (elbow), and S Jaylinn Hawkins (concussion). … Even as the Falcons’ run defense has remained stout, they are hemorrhaging running back receptions again; only the Panthers (37) have given up more catches to Mike Davis’ position (34).
