Carolina @ Jacksonville
Team Totals: Jaguars 25, Panthers 21.5
Bryce Young opens his third season on the road against a Jags defense now coordinated by Anthony Campanile, a career position coach whose approach is undefined. Jacksonville’s defensive personnel, especially in the back seven, is a major work in progress. Young’s box-score appeal remains capped as a diminutive (5-foot-10/204) pocket passer who’s reached 30 rushing yards in 10 of 28 career starts (36%). … The Panthers’ team strength is an O-Line that returns all five starters and sets up Chuba Hubbard for hefty workloads after Hubbard logged 19.5 touches a game last year. Preseason signs did point to Rico Dowdle handling most third-down running back snaps, but Hubbard is virtually uncontested as the Panthers’ lead runner, and Carolina’s front five has a big advantage on Jacksonville’s defensive front.
