The Panthers return from Week 14’s bye atop the NFC South and with a fully healthy roster; Dave Canales’ team didn’t list a single player on this week’s final injury report. Canales has committed to Bryce Young as a full-blown game manager; Young has 30 pass attempts or fewer in nine of his last 10 starts and is averaging just 7.9 rushing yards during that span. Even against an exploitable Saints pass defense indoors, Young is a two-QB-league play. … Carolina’s backfield moved toward a near-even split before the open date. In Week 13’s upset of the Rams, Rico Dowdle tallied 20 touches to Chuba Hubbard’s 19 but was out-snapped by Hubbard 38 to 27. Hubbard is better in the passing game and has averaged 5.0 yards per carry versus Dowdle’s 3.2 over Carolina’s last four contests. Ultimately, I’m approaching Dowdle and Hubbard similarly as RB2/flex options against New Orleans.
