Houston @ Jacksonville
Team Totals: Jaguars 26.5, Texans 17
C.J. Stroud’s QB10 fantasy finish in Week 2 was deceptive in that this year’s No. 2 overall pick racked up garbage-time production in Houston’s 31-20 loss to Indy, preyed on the Colts’ embarrassing perimeter cornerback play, and still took six sacks on 53 dropbacks. LT Laremy Tunsil (knee) sounds likely to return at Jacksonville, although the Texans remain without three of their other five projected Opening Day O-Line starters. I’m riding with the Jaguars’ D/ST here. … Running behind a decapitated line while losing early-down work to Devin Singletary and passing-down snaps to Singletary and Dare Ogunbowale, Dameon Pierce has devolved into a low-ceiling RB2/flex option. Jacksonville’s early-season run defense has been impenetrable, holding Colts and Chiefs RBs to a combined 30/93/0 rushing line (3.1 YPC) in Weeks 1-2.
With Noah Brown (groin) on I.R., the Texans’ primary Week 2 three-receiver set featured Tank Dell and Nico Collins outside with Robert Woods in the slot. All three topped 70 yards against Indy’s nonexistent secondary. Wide receivers have been quiet versus Jacksonville aside from Michael Pittman (8/97/1) and Skyy Moore (3/70/1). As Collins ranks top 10 in the league in Air Yards share (41%), I’m still locking him in as a WR2/3 starter.
