Tennessee @ New Orleans
Team Totals: Saints 22, Titans 19
I faded Derrick Henry as a season-long pick based on his advancing age (29.5 in Week 1), Tennessee’s league-worst offensive line as rated by #EstablishTheRun O-Line guru Brandon Thorn, and the 2,145 carries on Henry’s tires over his last eight football seasons. Yet now is the time to play him in DFS. The Big Dog won’t be healthier all year and offers 30-plus-touch upside in what profiles as a largely neutral-script matchup at New Orleans. … Last year’s Saints yielded the NFL’s fourth-fewest fantasy quarterback points, boding poorly for Ryan Tannehill in what projects as a low-scoring Week 1 game. Tannehill has finished as a top-16 fantasy signal-caller just twice in his last seven seasons. … I anticipate DeAndre Hopkins operating as the Titans’ chain-moving possession receiver and Treylon Burks stretching the field. Hopkins is likelier to draw Saints top CB Marshon Lattimore’s shadow coverage. Both are risky WR3 options in Week 1. … Second-year TE Chig Okonkwo led all tight ends in yards per route run as a rookie (3.26). Okonkwo’s target projection is low, however, and last year’s Saints surrendered the league’s fewest fantasy points to tight ends. At best, Okonkwo is a boom-bust, fringe TE1/2 gamble.
