It’s not apples to apples, but former Lions OC-turned-Bears HC Ben Johnson roasted Vikings DC Brian Flores for 30 points in each of their four NFC North bouts. In leading the league with a 38.9% blitz rate in 2024, Minnesota unsurprisingly sent an extra pass rusher against Caleb Williams on 50.6% of his dropbacks — nearly 18 full percentage points above his 32.7% blitz rate faced in 15 surrounding starts — and he successfully responded with a 69.2% completion rate for 7.9 yards per attempt and three scores (with zero turnovers, nonetheless). I admittedly would not start Williams outside of Superflex leagues for Skol’s No. 4 EPA/dropback, but his range of outcomes in a new (and exciting) offense includes a top-12 finish.
