Minnesota @ Detroit
Team Totals: Lions 28.5, Vikings 20
The Vikings return from a mini-bye following Week 8’s lopsided Thursday night loss to the Chargers with J.J. McCarthy back under center. McCarthy struggled mightily in his two early-season appearances (58.5% completion rate, nine sacks taken, four turnovers) and presents an appetizing attack target for Detroit’s fantasy D/ST, especially since neither LT Christian Darrisaw (knee) nor RT Brian O’Neill (knees) is 100%. It helps Detroit that this is the healthiest Dan Campbell’s defense has been at almost any point this year. … Aaron Jones returned from I.R. in Week 8 to out-snap Jordan Mason 26 to 17 and out-touch him 7 to 5, albeit in a blowout loss to the Bolts where the Vikings were never competitive. Still, it’s fair to speculate that Minnesota will struggle to compete again here as 8.5-point road dogs. I want no part of Mason in Week 9 fantasy lineups. At best, Jones is a low-floor flex option.
