Passing Game Outlook
Last year’s QB5 in ADP with legitimate MVP hype, C.J. Stroud has since plummeted to the 10th round as an afterthought due to his most recent fringe top-24 finish. There’s hope for a third-year bounce back following the release of former OC Bobby Slowik: The Texans were set up to fail in averaging 3rd-and-7.5 yards to go the last two years, whereas Sean McVay and, directly under him, OC Nick Caley’s units with the Rams and Matthew Stafford never once averaged even 7.0 yards to go on said down. A rising tide with a talented cast, Stroud (along with Drake Maye and Jordan Love) remains one of my favorite options to draft late if missing out on the elite tier at his position — rather than reaching for any of Baker Mayfield, Jared Goff, or Bo Nix several rounds earlier.
