Budenholzer Quotes: Spent most of his presser talking about the Hawks and how great Middleton was in Game 6, said they’re excited to have a quick turnaround for the NBA Finals after they had some time off in previous rounds.
Monty Quotes: Said Cameron Johnson is fine and “ready to go” after just a same-day issue, said he tells Cameron Johnson that he’s a starter for the team and they value his on-ball defense, said he and CP3 text/talk during games for potential opponents (Hawks vs. Bucks in this case), said some of the team members were practicing on off days, said he doesn’t get in the way of how Booker prepares himself.
Giannis Injury Notes: We got big news on Giannis on Monday night when the Bucks listed him as doubtful. Prior to Game 6 against the Hawks, the Bucks had initially listed him as doubtful, but did rule him out early in the day. Per Chris Haynes of Yahoo!, Giannis could’ve had a shot to play in a do-or-die Game 7 against the Hawks on Monday. He’s been sitting on the bench and he looked to be walking fine getting to his flight to Phoenix on Sunday. Giannis did hurt this knee back in March, and he also hurt this knee in March of 2020 before the shutdown. He also had an excused absence from media day because his status is unclear. Some of the evidence suggests that the “doubtful” tag might be a little closer to questionable and maybe the Bucks are trying to get a little edge (very little). All that said, the Bucks have generally been pretty honest with their injury reporting this season (looking at you, Clippers), so we should not expect Giannis to play.
