Orlando Magic (front end) at Toronto Raptors (front end)

Team Totals: Magic 101.5, Raptors 109.5

Injury Report: E’Twaun Moore (O, knee), Pascal Siakam (O, shoulder)

Magic projected starters: Cole Anthony, Jalen Suggs, Franz Wagner, Wendell Carter Jr., Mo Bamba

Raptors projected starters: Fred VanVleet, Gary Trent Jr., OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Precious Achiuwa

Mosley quotes: Said they handled Charlotte’s pace pretty well, said Wendell Carter Jr. is doing all the little things and putting the work in to help him turn in a big season, said Anthony has been making great decisions.

Nurse quotes: Said he’s loved Gary Trent Jr.’s defense and it’s been way above his expectation, said he wanted to sub in Boucher early to “change his vibe” out there, said Scottie and OG will guard the “smaller, quicker guys” and Khem and Precious “do a decent job on switches” on defense, said they’ve been drilling Barnes to play faster since Vegas.

Stats and Notes:

*The Magic defense has been the worst in the NBA so far with a 115.9 D rating while the Raptors have finally got it going with a fifth-ranked 100.4. Plus, the Raptors’ starters have really clicked on the offensive end with a second-ranked 120.8 O rating in 86 minutes (among 39 lineups with 20-plus minutes, Grizzlies starters first). Both of these teams are in the bottom five for pace, but both coaches have said they want to play faster, especially Nurse. As bad as the Magic have been, their starters have actually been excellent as the top starting lineup in the NBA with a +26.9 net rating in 55 minutes (only lineup better is the Caruso for PAW lineup for the Bulls at 31 minutes, among lineups with 20-plus minutes). This might be a sneaky friendly environment.
