If your season-long fantasy team is struggling: There’s still plenty of time to right the ship and make moves to put yourself in a position to make the playoffs. If you started out hot: Now’s the perfect time to get that one last piece to put you over the top.

Trading is a critical component of optimizing your fantasy football team. Today, we’ll walk through eight pairs of similarly ranked players and nominate one as a buy candidate and another as a player to sell. This ideally serves as inspiration for exact trades you can make, but it’s also more general advice on players we believe are valued too high or too low.

BUY TANK DELL, SELL BRIAN ROBINSON

Dell was one of the breakout stories of September with 324 yards in his first five games, but a concussion sidelined him through Houston’s Week 7 bye. The post-bye rookie WR narrative is well-established, and Dell could turn into an every-week fantasy starter down the stretch.

Robinson is the 10th-ranked running back in PPR formats, so there’s a good chance you can get someone better than Tank Dell. However, there is reason to be majorly concerned about Robinson’s rest-of-season value after Chris Rodriguez had seven carries in Week 7. A rushing volume-dependent bruiser with a 5.5% seasonal target share, Robinson needs to dominate carries to have consistent fantasy value.

BUY TYJAE SPEARS, SELL ZACK MOSS

Spears has been a key cog in the Titans’ passing game with a 12.1% target share, but he needs Derrick Henry gone to realize his upside case. With the trade deadline next week, Will Levis starting, and Kevin Byard shipped off, there’s no real reason for Tennessee to hold onto King Henry. He’s still an underdog to actually be dealt, but Spears’ value would go to the moon if something materializes.

Moss was still pretty involved in Week 7, but Jonathan Taylor‘s snap share has risen each week and figures to keep climbing. Moss might need an injury to re-enter the weekly fantasy starter conversation.

BUY TREY MCBRIDE, SELL COLE KMET
