Passing Game Outlook
First-year OC Liam Coen will look to replicate Dave Canales’ success in rejuvenating Baker Mayfield’s career, especially under pressure (seventh in EPA per dropback) and on third down (60.9%, sixth). Baker overlapped with Coen for five games with the Rams in 2022 and completed 63.5% of his passes for 6.5 yards per attempt — marks that would’ve ranked 23rd and 25th last year, respectively. Given Geno Smith’s drop-off under pressure from 2022 (6.6 YPA, seventh) to last season without Canales (5.3, 29th), Mayfield should be viewed as a low-end QB2 exclusively for Superflex leagues.
