Welcome to the Week 14 edition of Snaps & Pace, where we examine trends in play volume and game pace. It is meant to be a 30,000-foot view of upcoming contests, with the goal of identifying which matchups will – and which will not – be played on fertile fantasy soil. For a primer on why this is important, click here.

With the dawning of the fantasy playoffs, we have officially hit the home stretch. Divisional rematches begin in earnest next week, and the two that are on the Week 14 main slate won’t be negatively affected by weather. With all 32 teams in action, there are plenty of directions we can turn in search of points and play volume, so let’s dive right in.

Up In Pace

Tennessee Titans at Jacksonville Jaguars

Sunday was not the Titans’ day, from a questionable 4th-down spot on their first drive, to Adam Humphries turning completion into crushing interception, to Baker Mayfield finally nailing more throws than commercials. As is Tennessee’s custom, however, the game still produced outsized play (136) and point tallies (76). Titans contests average the fifth-most combined snaps (132.8) and the league’s most total points (57.1). Tennessee continues to operate at a brisk pace, ranking eighth fastest over the last month during neutral situations (game within seven points; first three quarters). Tennessee has the fifth-quickest offense on the full season, according to the RotoViz Pace App.
