Week 13’s highest-totaled game, Chiefs-Bengals offers obvious shootout potential. (I pounded this game’s over when the total was 51.5 early in the week.) Andy Reid’s teams have historically played more aggressively away from Arrowhead Stadium, a notion supported by Patrick Mahomes’ home-road splits. Mahomes’ career yards per pass attempt spike from 7.7 in Kansas City to 8.5 in away games, while Mahomes’ TD Rate soars from 5.7% at home to 7.2% on the road. I’m all-in on this being a Mahomes eruption spot. … The Chiefs added Melvin Gordon to their practice squad this week, presumably as insurance for Jerick McKinnon (hamstring). Regardless, Isiah Pacheco has emerged as Kansas City’s clear-cut lead back coming off season highs in touches (23), raw snaps (39), and routes run (15) in Week 12’s win over the Rams. Against a Bengals defense yielding the NFL’s 12th-fewest fantasy running back points, I’ll support Pacheco as an RB2 should McKinnon sit and a TD-or-bust RB2/flex if McKinnon plays.
