Cincinnati @ Tampa Bay
Team Totals: Bengals 24, Bucs 20.5
Especially with Tee Higgins (hamstring), Tyler Boyd (finger), and Hayden Hurst (calf) nursing shaky-at-best health, Joe Burrow’s Week 15 box-score projection is shaky against the Bucs, who will show up here if they have any pride at all after getting embarrassed by Brock Purdy’s 49ers last Sunday, 35-7. It does help that Tampa Bay will likely miss No. 2 CB Jamel Dean (toe). I’m approaching Burrow as a boom-bust QB1 option here. … In his first game back from a two-week concussion, Joe Mixon narrowly out-snapped Samaje Perine 39 to 29, who also ran three more pass routes than Mixon against the Browns. Mixon still out-touched Perine 16 to 5, but underlying metrics indicated Perine has earned a bigger role at Mixon’s expense. The good news is Cincinnati’s running game has been hyper-efficient regardless of its running back’s identity since the first month of the season, while Bucs NT Vita Vea (calf) won’t play this week. I’m treating Mixon as a fringe RB1/2 in a contest where script should be run-game friendly.
