I’m at a bit of a crossroads. I’m an LSU alum and obviously want my school’s football team to do well. Having said that, I absolutely despise Brian Kelly and everything he stands for.
If you didn’t catch Kelly’s postgame press conference and don’t mind a little second-hand embarrassment, I encourage you to go watch it. He took offense, pun intended, that the first question he got after the Tigers’ 20-10 was “What are you seeing with your offense?” Yeah, terrible question. I mean it’s not like they got out-gained by Florida, only scored one offensive touchdown, and went 4 for 14 on third downs. He then went off on a tirade against the reporter for asking about the lack of a run game and how bad they were on third downs.
The offense was horrible. The MVP for LSU was actually Florida QB DJ Lagway, who threw five interceptions. That’s the only way LSU managed to win on Saturday night in Death Valley.
I never liked the hire back in 2021. He has actually set the program back since he’s taken over. Give me back Coach O.
Week 3 Recap
- There’s no other way to describe Week 3 than an absolute bloodbath. Week 1 was great. Week 2 was OK. I didn’t open up the DK app at all last Saturday.
- Justice Haynes was a full fade for me last week. He was doing just ok with 96 yards and one touchdown with Michigan up by 40. Then Michigan decided to put him back in for one play to get seven yards and the 100-yard bonus. The 45% of the field who rostered him were probably loving life. Haynes putting up 22 fantasy points probably wouldn’t have been so bad if not for Desmond Reid getting hurt while putting up just three fantasy points. I’ll let you guess who my highest-owned RB was.
- A lot of chalk trunk-slammed last week. Makai Lemon was 40% owned and put up a measly 11 fantasy points. Parker Livingstone couldn’t replicate the magic of Week 2, putting up a dud at 36% ownership.
- Chris Brazzell II absolutely nuked the slate. He was the highest fantasy-point scorer by six points at only 5% ownership. He and Joey Aguilar were the stack you needed in GPPs. The winning lineup in the flagship put up 234.42 points and had a Ty Simpson–Germie Bernard stack along with Aguilar and Brazzell. He even overcame a 4.5 fantasy-point performance from Devin Mockobee.
- One final recap note about FanDuel’s main slate and Trinidad Chambliss. To break it down, a bunch of sources were saying Chambliss was going to get the start in place of Austin Simmons. Lane Kiffin then went on a pregame radio show and said Simmons was good to go and the stadium announced him as a starter. Then Chambliss walks out on the field to take the first snap. He was $4,000 on FD. I said it on Saturday: There was no right way to approach that situation. Props to those who stuck with Chambliss, as he was a score you needed to contend in GPPs. It’s a good example of how college football is now. Sure, you have availability reports. However, there’s no incentive for coaches to actually give accurate information on them. Long story short, you should not be kicking yourself for swapping out Chambliss last week. You have to forget about it and move on.
