It’s crazy we’ve already arrived at Week 7 of the college football season. It seems like just yesterday LSU’s win against Clemson looked halfway decent. Even with the halfway point of the season approaching, I still don’t even know if LSU is halfway decent.

We do know one thing for certain so far in 2025: James Franklin is still, in fact, James Franklin.

Week 6 Recap

  • The Week 6 DraftKings main slate was a wild one. I thought it was going to be a slate where paying down at RB was going to be a death sentence for GPP lineups. In reality, RB was irrelevant on this slate. The highest fantasy-point score was Justice Haynes with 26.7. Ismail Mahdi was the highest-owned player of the slate and fell flat on his face, only mustering 3.4 fantasy points. Jeremiyah Love didn’t perform as badly, but at his $9,800 price tag, he only put up 21.4 points.
  • After joking about him on the show, Nico Iamaleava silenced the haters, like myself, by destroying the slate with his 50 fantasy points. He finally looked liked the QB that programs were dying to pay millions of dollars for his services. Chris Bell also smashed as the second-highest-owned WR of the slate. His teammate, Caullin Lacy, didn’t do much at 31% ownership. At least I got one thing right on the slate with the full-fade of him.
  • Four of the highest-scoring QBs were all single-digit owned. Nico, Rocco Becht, Avery Johnson, and Noah Fifita all put up at least 35 fantasy points at low ownership. It wasn’t shocking to see Nico not in the winning lineup in the flagship considering he only carried 0.13% ownership.

Week 7 Preview

  • My level of excitement for this slate compared to last week is not really comparable. You have some good real-life matchups like Oklahoma-Texas and Indiana-Oregon. There’s only one game with a game total in the 60s. In that game, Notre Dame is favored by three touchdowns at home against N.C. State.
  • There’s a ton of value on this slate. We’re finally getting to the point in the season where some teams are banged up, and DK can’t keep up with all the news. Since pricing comes out on Monday, there’s a lot of news that breaks during the week compared to NFL that makes some backups in good spots more appealing as we get closer to Saturday.
  • This slate is going to be determined by one question — How are you going to handle Jeremiyah Love? We’ll get to that in the Expected Chalk section.

Expected Chalk, How to Play It

Jeremiyah Love, DK Price: $9,000

Expected Ownership: 52%
