This year’s NFL coaching cycle has largely concluded, and every team now has locked in their head coach and offensive coordinator for the 2026 season. Below, we rank the fantasy impact of each coaching change for fantasy football. The rankings shouldn’t be taken as gospel since quantifying the impact of a coaching charge is hardly a perfect exercise, but the bullet points below the rankings should serve as an introduction of what changes we’re expecting from each new coaching staff for this upcoming season.
Note: This article will be updated in May post-draft to better account for player personnel on each team.
1. LAS VEGAS RAIDERS
Head coach: Klint Kubiak (former Seahawks OC)
Offensive coordinator: Andrew Janocko (former Seahawks QB coach) replaces Greg Olson
- Fresh off a Super Bowl victory, Kubiak will now likely team up with presumed No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza in Las Vegas. Kubiak spearheaded a Seahawks offense that ranked sixth in yards per play in 2025, and his red-hot start to his Saints tenure in 2024 (44+ points in Weeks 1 and 2 before injuries derailed New Orleans’ season) is worth mentioning as well. Given his incredible success in Seattle and the flashes of brilliance he showed in New Orleans, it’s fair to call Kubiak the most exciting young hire of the cycle.
- 40% of Seattle’s snaps came with two TEs on the field, the second-highest clip in the league (granted, this is propped up somewhat because teams use heavier personnel in positive game script). Kubiak’s Saints were also third in football with two TEs appearing on 39% of snaps in 2024. Per Sharp Football, the Seahawks ranked second to last in shotgun rate at 45.2%. The Seahawks also rostered multiple fullbacks. Kubiak reportedly replaced fired Seahawks OC Ryan Grubb last offseason because Mike Macdonald wanted to better establish the ground game. Seattle actually ranked below average in rushing EPA per play and rush success rate, but the pass-game efficiency exploded under Kubiak and with the addition of Sam Darnold instead of Geno Smith.
- The hiring of Kubiak bodes very well for Ashton Jeanty in particular, given Kubiak’s emphasis on heavy personnel. Brock Bowers similarly benefits from the hiring of a more competent offensive mind and a quarterback upgrade with Mendoza likely coming to town. We’ll see what the WR situation looks like post-draft.
