Jalen Milroe is our QB3 for rookie drafts and checks in as QB27 in our overall dynasty ranks. According to the scouts, he is an electric runner but needs to refine his game as a passer. The rushing is a huge deal for fantasy, as it raises his floor and ceiling. Because of Milroe’s unique skill set, it can be difficult to find great comps for him at the next level. The hope is that he can turn into someone like Jalen Hurts — a second-round pick with great rushing ability who has great intangibles and refines his passing ability. Milroe is a huge swing in Superflex dynasty formats, but one that would pay off in a massive way if it hits.

By the Numbers

Milroe was a four-star QB prospect out of high school, electing to go to Alabama and be coached by Nick Saban. For his first two seasons, he sat behind Bryce Young, who went on to be the No. 1 overall pick in 2023. Milroe burst onto the scene following Young’s departure, accounting for 35 total TDs and finishing sixth in Heisman voting. While the raw numbers were excellent, Milroe had a huge problem with pressure, allowing about 32% of pressures to become sacks, according to PFF.

When Saban retired, Milroe reportedly turned down some “big-time” offers to stay at Alabama, citing some academic goals along with what he wanted to accomplish on the field. Milroe left the school with his Masters degree, and was awarded the 2024 William V. Campbell Trophy, more commonly known as the “Academic Heisman”.
