We’re in draft week, and we’ve finally got a feel for some ADPs now that we’re almost in full swing. In fantasy hoops, it’s tougher to have an A+ draft because you have to tackle positions along with hitting all the notes on categories.
In this edition of the perfect draft, I’m going to draft two teams. Team 1 is going to be picking in the top half of a 12-team, nine-category league (FG%, FT%, points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, threes, and turnovers). Team 2 will be in the back half of drafts, meaning they will pick early in the even rounds.
I’m going off the Yahoo! Ranks for this one, and I would suggest checking out Exploiting the Yahoo! Rankings here, too. I’ll be doing an ESPN version tomorrow as well. I won’t be taking two guys on the same team here, but there are some cases where I would prefer to take the guy who went earlier (see: Flagg, Cooper).
Team 1 for early first: Nikola Jokic
Hey, it’s the perfect draft, so I’m going to take Jokic at the 1.01 here. He’s just so much better than everyone else, but the top three of Jokic, Victor Wembanyama, and Shai Gilgeous Alexander are all quite strong.
Team 2 for late first: Devin Booker
I’m just really high on Booker. I would expect his minutes to be up there even with the added pace because the Suns just don’t have the depth. He should have several triple-doubles and could get into the eights for assists per game.
