L.A. Chargers @ Kansas City
Team Totals: Chiefs 23.5, Chargers 18
The Chargers enter Week 15 with a devastatingly low team total and a quarterback playing with a broken left hand behind arguably football’s worst offensive line, which lost RT Trey Pipkins (ankle) last week. Justin Herbert terrifyingly absorbed seven sacks on just 33 dropbacks in Week 14’s win over the Eagles; this is an opportunity for Chiefs All-World DT Chris Jones to go off. Herbert hasn’t topped 250 passing yards in a game since Week 7. I don’t view him as a viable fantasy starter here. … The Chargers took a decidedly run-heavy approach in Omarion Hampton’s (ankle) Week 15 return with Hampton and Kimani Vidal each handling exactly 15 touches. The Chargers’ passing offense seems to be all but compromised at this point, while Jim Harbaugh and OC Greg Roman both have run-first backgrounds anyway. Kansas City has given up the league’s eighth-fewest fantasy running back points. I’m approaching both Vidal and Hampton as risky but viable RB2/flex options.
