Arizona @ L.A. Rams

Team Totals: Rams 32.5, Cardinals 20

After the Cardinals’ internal meetings on Tuesday, Carson Beck was not promoted from third to second string — remaining behind Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew on the depth chart — and ESPN’s Dan Graziano reported Wednesday morning that no under-center change is likely before late November, when Arizona’s brutal schedule finally softens up. That’s a green light for opposing D/STs. One of the NFL’s least mobile passers, Brissett will start games the rest of the way minus team-best lineman LT Paris Johnson Jr. (biceps, I.R.) in an increasingly dysfunctional offense. Over the past two weeks, Brissett has thrown four interceptions and taken seven sacks. The Rams’ defense should tee off here. … Tyler Allgeier will have a chance to operate as a near-every-down back Sunday if Jeremiyah Love (ankles) can’t play. Allgeier is built to handle early-down carries at a burly 5-foot-11, 224, and was already dominating passing-down snaps in Arizona due to his pass-protection acumen. The Rams in no way present a friendly rushing matchup but have given up the NFL’s eighth-most catches (25) and fourth-most receiving yards (213) to enemy RBs. Sans Love, Allgeier would be a usage-based RB2/flex starter with enhanced PPR appeal.
