Thursday night’s game pits the Chargers against a Raiders defense newly coordinated by 71-year-old Rod Marinelli after Jon Gruden made the long-overdue move to fire overmatched DC Paul Guenther. Thankfully for Anthony Lynn’s Bolts, the short week will almost certainly prevent Marinelli from making tide-turning tweaks. Bottom two in sacks (15) and bottom eight in QB hits (62), Las Vegas consistently provides enemy quarterbacks with squeaky-clean pockets and has consequently allowed the NFL’s 10th-most fantasy QB points on the year. Marinelli’s defense is further at risk of missing starters EDGE Clelin Ferrell (shoulder), CB Damon Arnette (concussion), LB Nicholas Morrow (concussion), and SS Johnathan Abram (concussion). In Week 15’s highest-totaled game, Justin Herbert is an encouraging QB1 play.
