Another low-totaled Week 1 contest, Jaguars-Football Team — we’re going to refuse to call them the “Commanders” all season in this space — projects as a fantasy-unfriendly affair with a small handful of exceptions. Among them is Antonio Gibson, who caught a massive break when Brian Robinson was shot twice in the legs in an Aug. 28 carjacking and isn’t due back before October. Pass-game specialist J.D. McKissic is going to play a ton of situational snaps, but Gibson projects for 15-plus touches behind WFT’s underrated offensive line as part of a home favorite facing an unimposing Jaguars defensive front. I’m approaching Gibson as a sneaky-upside RB2/flex and McKissic as a viable flex play in deep PPR leagues. … In-house support for the Football Team to play fifth-round rookie Sam Howell is already growing after Howell’s impressive preseason. Carson Wentz is a potentially short-leash two-QB-league option here.
