Well, this is one of the toughest days of the year. There are so many B2Bs and teams love to give guys a day off for this slate. I’ll be in the projections streets basically all day, so I’m just hitting the macro notes. Plus, all the teams that played yesterday haven’t filed yet, so we’re flying blind on nine teams.

Get ready for a wild day. I’ll catch you guys on the Injury Show.

MIA @ CHA | ATL @ CLE | POR @ IND | CHI @ ORL | HOU @ PHI | LAC @ WAS | NYK @ DAL | DET @ MEM | SAC @ MIN | TOR @ NOP | LAL @ SAS | BKN @ PHX | DEN @ UTA | OKC @ GSW

Miami Heat (back end) at Charlotte Hornets

Team Totals: Heat 110.5, Hornets 107

Injury Report: Heat on a B2B, Miles Bridges (O, knee)

Heat projected starters: Tyler Herro, Duncan Robinson, Jimmy Butler, Haywood Highsmith, Bam Adebayo

Hornets projected starters: LaMelo Ball, Brandon Miller, Josh Green, Tidjane Salaun, Taj Gibson

Spo quotes: Said he changed the play down the stretch, said Love played really well off the bench, said Jaime played really well and Alec Burks “made some timely passes”, said Burks “gave us really steady play” off the bench, said Pelle brought some good defense off the bench, said they still need to rebound the ball better, said Jimmy has extremely fast processing speed, said they were flying around defensively in the second half, said “it’s not easy” for Rozier to come off the bench and “of course” they were going to stick with Duncan, said Ware had good moments and he’s been great in practice.

Lee quotes: Said they really have to fix their turnovers, said he’ll look at the film but sometimes it’s the opponent scheming up against them, said Ball “is continuing to find his spots”, said the guys are doing a great job setting screens for LaMelo.

Stats and Notes:

*Miami’s defense is starting to get into better shape, as they’re now a top-10 unit on the year. They’ve looked quite good in five of their last six games (the loss to Indy the exception). The biggest difference lately has been they aren’t giving up nearly as many 3-pointers. Some of that is because of matchup, but it’s still surprising to see they haven’t given up big 3-point volume in each of their last five games. Miami has also really been on it with their transition game, but their rim defense hasn’t been anything close to what we’re used to. Luckily for them, the Hornets have nothing at the rim and may have the worst rim offense in the league right now (29th in rim points). For the Hornets on defense, they’ve been letting teams tee off on them from deep lately, and their defense was slipping in six straight prior to the 95-84 slugfest loss to the Magic on Monday. They don’t have any really clear weakness on the year, though.

Great matchups: Jimmy Butler (might rest), Bam Adebayo

Good matchups: Tyler Herro, LaMelo Ball

Bad matchups: Moussa Diabate

Atlanta Hawks at Cleveland Cavaliers
