Buffalo @ Washington
Team Totals: Bills 25.5, Commanders 19
Fresh off predictably bouncing back from Week 1’s clunker — Josh Allen pasted the Raiders for Week 2’s QB7 result, opening the game with 13 straight completions — Allen now draws a Commanders defense bringing heavy heat, having rung up 10 sacks and 20 QB hits against Arizona and Denver in Weeks 1-2. Long-struggling Russell Wilson did tag Washington for last week’s QB3 score, including a 6/56/0 rushing line. (Wilson entered the game having reached 55 yards rushing in just one of his prior 37 games.) The Commanders’ ability to generate pressure could force Allen to run more. Leading the NFL in red-zone completions (10), Allen is a top-five QB1 play here. … Even as James Cook went off for 159 yards on 21 touches versus Las Vegas, he was concerningly pulled at the goal line for Damien Harris and Latavius Murray, while Murray operated as Buffalo’s 2-minute back. The Commanders’ stout defensive front held the Cardinals and Broncos to 3.4 yards per carry and the NFL’s sixth-fewest fantasy running back points in Weeks 1-2. Restrictions on Cook’s usage in high-value situations keep him in RB2/flex range.
Allen’s Weeks 1-2 target distribution: Stefon Diggs 20; Gabe Davis 11; Cook and Dalton Kincaid 10; Dawson Knox 9; Deonte Harty 7; Murray 4; Harris 2; Khalil Shakir 1. … Diggs has caught 17 of his 20 targets from Allen, good for a near-impeccable 85% catch rate. Diggs and Allen’s on-field rapport looks sharper than ever.
