CFB DFS Top Plays: Week 6 – Saturday Main

Understanding optimal lineups for cash games is extremely important, even if you only play tournaments. Players in our cash pool are the ones we believe are the most underpriced, have the best floor/ceiling combo, and typically feature a relatively tight range of outcomes. These are the best plays on the board when considering price, context, and positional scarcity. These are usually pretty good options for GPPs as well.

The optimal GPP lineup will typically mix some of these cash-type plays with higher-variance options, often in correlated lineups. In cash games (where roughly 50% of the field gets paid out), we don’t worry about ownership, game stacks, or correlation. With all that said, these are our Top Plays considering the following factors: mean projection, matchup, upside, and value. Ownership is NOT considered here. Generally speaking, these players are what we consider to be “head-to-head and 50/50 considerations”.

They are listed in price descending order (NOT ranked by “best play”). At the bottom, you’ll find suggested rankings by site once salary is accounted for.

QUARTERBACK

Jayden Daniels (LSU – DK $9,000, FD $12,400) – While you do have to sacrifice a bit in your lineup to fit him in, Daniels is the clear top quarterback on the slate in terms of floor/ceiling combination. Missouri should be able to move the ball well versus LSU, so we are very likely to see a back-and-forth affair. Such a large portion of LSU’s production comes at the hands (or feet) of Daniels, so he justifiably will see plenty of ownership. In years past, I tended to be much more open to playing Daniels without a wide receiver in GPPs, however, this year he has been much improved as a passer and the targets are very concentrated within the group of Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas (who are both underpriced). GPP Recommendation: 1 to 2 pass catchers in stack.

Brady Cook (MIZZ – DK $7,400, FD $10,800) – The secondary for LSU has been exposed repeatedly this year, setting up a great spot for Brady Cook and his receivers. Cook was a bit banged up earlier this season and is certainly not running as much, which does cap his ceiling some. Daniels is the clear priority in terms of quarterbacks from this game at only a $1,600 price difference, but Cook is certainly viable in all formats on this slate. Luther Burden is the clear WR1 for Missouri, but Theo Wease and Mookie Cooper (assuming Mekhi Miller is out) are both in play as well. GPP Recommendation: 1 to 2 pass catchers in stack.
