Washington @ San Francisco
Team Totals: Commanders 21.5, 49ers 29
Arguably the most valuable QB at cost in August, Brock Purdy’s 0.74 points per dropback are superior to Josh Allen’s 0.64. Given Washington’s résumé against Jalen Hurts (QB8), Dak Prescott (QB2), Sam Darnold (QB4), and Jameis Winston (QB5), Purdy is fully expected to put on a display that rivals Allen’s this week. … Christian McCaffrey’s managers are well aware he’s handling 12 carries per game compared to last season’s heap of 18. Although this matchup is undesirable — Jonathan Taylor couldn’t hit the century mark against Washington, allowing the third-fewest points to RBs, on 21 touches — the team’s absences across the board elevate McCaffrey’s floor. Kaelon Black would only spell CMC in a blowout, which the market suggests; a friendly reminder: The Commanders played five quarters and now travel across the country.
