Passing Game Outlook
The QB battle comes down to Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Complicating matters further is the likelihood that whoever starts in Week 1 might not be starting still in Week 10, given the incompetency of both players. Richardson averaged 46.5 rushing yards per game in healthy games last season and is a legitimate startable fantasy quarterback if he gets the nod, but the Colts also skew very run-heavy with him under center, making him the worse of the two options for their pass-catching options. Jones’ rushing dipped last season to just 26.5 yards per game, but he was over 40 rushing yards per game over the previous two seasons as well, though he’s not fantasy-relevant even if he does get the nod. Those who draft Colts skill players will hope for as many Jones starts as possible, while those who draft Richardson in hopes of nailing a late-round QB1 will obviously root for him. At the end of the day, neither is likely to engineer an efficient passing offense, and Indianapolis projects as a run-first team regardless.
