Indianapolis @ Kansas City
Team Totals: Chiefs 27, Colts 23.5
The Colts visit Arrowhead coming off Week 11’s bye to face a Chiefs defense short on glaring weaknesses; Kansas City ranks mid-pack or slightly better in most advanced defensive stats. Before Indy’s off week, Daniel Jones’ play took a turn for the worse in terms of pocket awareness, absorbing 12 combined sacks and fumbling six times (three lost) against Pittsburgh and Atlanta in Weeks 9-10. Jones’ struggles were reminiscent of his time with the Giants. I’m not sure what to expect from Jones here. I do know few teams are more motivated than the 5-5 Chiefs, who face real risk of missing the playoffs for the first time since 2014. … K.C. has coughed up a crisp 4.3 yards per carry to running backs, while Jonathan Taylor’s legs should be fresh off the open date. Winning the battle of attrition, the Colts will trot out 11 of 11 Week 1 offensive starters here. Taylor leads the NFL in rushing yards (1,139), all-purpose touchdowns (17), first-down runs (58), and yards per carry (6.0).
