The PGA Tour leaves Doral and heads to Charlotte this week for the Truist Championship at Quail Hollow Club, the sixth signature event on the 2026 calendar and the final tune-up before next week’s PGA Championship at Aronimink. 72 players will compete for a $20 million purse with no cut in another strong field featuring 19 of the world’s top 25 golfers.
The Course:
Quail Hollow Club returns to its usual spot on the schedule after a one-year hiatus during which it hosted the 2025 PGA Championship. For the Truist, it should set up similarly to the 2024 edition rather than the major championship setup: par 71 at roughly 7,500 yards, with 11 par 4s, four par 3s, and three par 5s. The greens are Bermuda, converted from bent ahead of the 2017 PGA Championship and overseeded with poa through the cool-weather months. The fairways and rough are Bermuda overseeded with rye. The Fazio renovation work completed ahead of the 2024 Truist softened contours on 12 greens and added some runoff areas around putting surfaces, but the routing and character of the course are unchanged from the last decade of golf here.
