Episode Summary: Preseason News (August 18, 2026)

Adam Levitan and Evan Silva walk through the biggest preseason injury and usage news. Jordyn Tyson pulled the same right hamstring that gave him trouble in his final year at Arizona State — ETR moved him to No. 84 overall, and this could be the story of the preseason. Jeremiyah Love left the Cardinals’ preseason opener with a high ankle sprain after taking 14 touches in a half, and ETR dropped him to 28 overall with real Week 1 risk. And Dalton Kincaid finally looks healthy from the PCL — Silva is going to the mattresses on him as a possible top-four tight end. Plus Luther Burden III already running pre-game, Chuba Hubbard’s hamstring lifting Jonathon Brooks, Emeka Egbuka’s toe injury, Breece Hall’s groin scan, Cam Skattebo backfield concerns after the Najee Harris visit, De’Zhaun Stribling’s breakout preseason game, and Silva pulling Jake Ferguson from the Top 150.

Key Topics

  • Injury news: Jordyn Tyson right hamstring (multiple opinions being sought), Jeremiyah Love high ankle sprain, Luther Burden III already running pre-game, Chuba Hubbard hamstring, Emeka Egbuka toe (Bucs saying day-to-day/week-to-week), Breece Hall groin, Cam Skattebo backfield concerns, Josh Jacobs no NFL suspension yet, Coby Bryant done for the season.
  • Preseason usage notes: Packers full 11 personnel with Jayden Reed slot-only as expected, De’Zhaun Stribling breakout (7 catches, 63 yards on 22 snaps), Isaiah Likely only six of 14 snaps with Jaxson Dart, Chase Brown nine of 13 with Joe Burrow (Samaje Perine still involved), Jaydon Blue 20 of 26 first-half snaps for the Cowboys, Oronde Gadsden II clearly the Chargers’ TE3 now, Tai Felton pushing Jauan Jennings for the Vikings’ WR3 slot, Omar Cooper Jr. losing WR3 slot reps to Isaiah Williams. Silva rank changes: Jacory Croskey-Merritt up to RB36, Jake Ferguson removed from Top 150.

Takeaway #1 (1:19): Jordyn Tyson pulled his right hamstring again. This could be the story of the preseason.

  • Evan Silva: Silva dropped Tyson quite a ways in his Top 150. Per Nick Underhill, this is a situation the Saints fear could linger into Week 1, and if the Saints were to predict right now, they would say Jordyn Tyson will not play. The good news: Tyson was shelved for the vast majority of the offseason, and then he got to training camp and immediately started dominating in practice. Silva has been a high-volume Tyson drafter and is trying to stay optimistic that once Tyson returns, he can be dominant again.
  • Adam Levitan: Adam is more worried than Silva. This is Tyson’s third or fourth separate hamstring injury in the last calendar year or so, so it is obviously not a fluke. Adam is concerned this becomes a Christian Watson-type situation — multiple years of pulling the same hamstring over and over. ETR went lower than Silva, all the way down to No. 84 overall in the half-PPR ranks. Silva is at 72.
  • Adam Levitan: The fallout across the roster is real. Silva bumped Chris Olave to 18 overall in the Top 150 — if you use the Top 150, you are going to get Olave a lot. Juwan Johnson benefits when Tyson misses time and is having a really nice camp. Devaughn Vele is at least on the radar as a deep-league flier — the Saints traded a real pick for him last season, and he is 6-foot-4 with 4.47 speed. Even when Tyson returns, Adam is optimistic he can jump back in and be productive, but the risk of a setback is real.

Takeaway #2 (5:51): Jeremiyah Love left with a high ankle sprain. There’s real Week 1 risk.

  • Adam Levitan: The Cardinals played their starters in the preseason opener — Jacoby Brissett played 11 snaps and Jeremiyah Love played eight of them. Adam thought Love looked really good, and his elusiveness was clearly off the charts. He was ready to get Love out of the game. Instead, the Cardinals left him in for 24 snaps and 14 touches in a half, and on the 14th touch he caught an angle route, got twisted down, and sprained his ankle. Adam Schefter reported it is a high ankle sprain.
  • Evan Silva: This is another testament to how dumb the Cardinals’ organization has been. You do not put the No. 3 overall pick in harm’s way for 14 touches in a preseason game. High ankle sprains are bad news. Silva now thinks PCLs have overtaken high ankle sprains as his most-hated injury for a fantasy player, but high ankle sprains are close — they are aggravating injuries that keep coming back and can leave a player at 60%.
  • Adam Levitan: Adam thought this would be similar to the Tyler Allgeier/Bijan Robinson split in Atlanta — Allgeier gets his touches but they are not worth much. Now with the ankle, there is real Week 1 risk. James Conner is banged up too, so Silva thinks it lessens the likelihood that Conner or Trey Benson go anywhere. ETR dropped Love to 28 overall in the half-PPR ranks. It could go lower if he does not get mobility back soon. The wide range of outcomes here got even wider.

Takeaway #3 (41:35): Dalton Kincaid is finally healthy from the PCL. Silva is really excited about him.

  • Adam Levitan: Kincaid played in 12 personnel ahead of Jackson Hawes for the Bills, and when they were in 11 personnel with the starting group, he split reps with Dawson Knox. Not perfect usage, but Adam thought it was good usage. Most importantly, the PCL finally appears to be behind Kincaid — the entire offseason program, all of training camp, and now preseason snaps. This is stuff that would not have always happened with Kincaid since he had that knee injury.
  • Evan Silva: Silva is really excited about Kincaid. Mike Leone made a really good case for him, and JJ Zachariason made a great case on Silva’s show — Kincaid has been insanely efficient on a yards-per-route-run basis over the past couple of years while playing through the PCL. The Bills did not trust him to stay healthy or block, and he is never going to be a true full-time player. But if his on-field participation comes up a little bit, this was a first-round pick and a first-round-caliber receiving tight end.
  • Evan Silva: Silva moved Kincaid all the way up to TE9 — a leapfrog over the ETR ranks at TE10. Of the tight ends going after the Tucker Kraft/Kyle Pitts/Harold Fannin Jr. tier, the one most likely to finish top three or top four is Kincaid. He and George Kittle are the best later-round TE bets. Kincaid is also the biggest upside tight end you can freaking imagine if you are drafting two tight ends. Silva is not worried about D.J. Moore — he thinks a healthy Kincaid can lead the Bills in receiving.
