Passing Game Outlook
Trevor Lawrence received a five-year, $275 million extension in June despite turning in a disappointing third NFL season wherein he took 2022-to-2023 steps back in TD Rate (4.3% to 3.7%) and QB Rating (95.2 to 88.5). Lawrence’s lack of progress could be partly blamed on a Week 7 MCL sprain and Week 13 high ankle sprain, all but zapping his mobility. Through three seasons, Lawrence has yet to top 25 touchdown passes and is averaging a fairly pedestrian 19.3 rushing yards per game. Nothing the Jaguars did this offseason suggests Lawrence’s updated supporting cast will propel him into upside QB1 territory.
