Dynasty Tips with Top Rookies and Sophomores

No matter what you’re talking about, 2020 has thrown basically everything off. That’s no different in the NBA and it’s certainly true in how we prepare for upcoming fantasy drafts. Our beloved summer league wasn’t a thing this year, and we don’t have months of columns to read to get a feel of where the young guys are with development or where they might fall in the rotation.

In normal years, we’d have a set of dynasty rankings, but this year it just didn’t feel right to just rush them to the Draft Kit. However, we got some early feedback from you guys that you’re looking for some Dynasty stuff.

I’ll add I certainly don’t feel too comfortable talking about the rookies because I’m going off two-minute highlights on the observations of others. In previous years, I was able to draw my own conclusions in summer league, but yeah. Plus, this is also a weaker draft class, so it’s not like it’s essential you build your team around rookies.

All that said, here’s a column that could help you guys with some rankings up top for the young guys, and some strategy.

 

Dynasty 101 Stuff

In redraft leagues, you can kind of go with the flow on how you want to draft. Maybe you weren’t planning to punt FT%, but your plan could change on the fly if Giannis Antetokounmpo slides. In Dynasty, you probably need a plan before you draft. Do you wanna go for it right away or are you building for the future? Although, you could straddle the line a bit for the first 4-5 rounds of dynasty drafts, but you’ll eventually come to a crossroads once the well starts to dry up on players everyone is going to target.
