Monitoring training camp news, injuries, and depth-chart battles is what NFL news in July and August is all about.

But how is the news coming out affecting our actual projections and rankings at ETR? In this article, we’ll aim to offer a quick synopsis of any projection changes we’ve made that day and why. This will not necessarily be an exhaustive list, but we will try to mention any meaningful and relevant change in projections to players in all of our Top-300 Rankings. This article will be updated at least daily with any projections changes.

Each player in our full-season projections has a “base” and “ceiling” case attached to them. We’ll try and reference which of those inputs has been adjusted, as we are constantly tweaking both cases for players to try and account for everything we’re seeing and hearing.

August 17

NO

  • Went to five missed games for Jordyn Tyson with reports he’ll miss two months with a hamstring injury. Bumped Chris OlaveJuwan JohnsonDevaughn VeleBryce Lance, and Barion Brown.

CHI

  • Docked Kyle Monangai‘s ceiling with news that he hyperextended his knee, though that’s being treated as good news, and it sounds like he’s not guaranteed to miss regular season time. We left his base work alone for now but would give to D’Andre Swift and Roschon Johnson if Week 1 appears in doubt.

NYG

  • Docked Tyrone Tracy‘s base and ceiling carry share with Devin Singletary involved in the Giants’ first preseason game, Najee Harris visiting, and Tracy blowing a pass pro in preseason Week 1. Bumped Singletary and UnlistedRB.
  • Bumped Malachi Fields‘ target share further after a good preseason outing.

NYJ

  • Bumped Braelon Allen off UnlistedRB and Isaiah Davis with Davis dealing with a knee injury, Breece Hall tweaking his groin, and Allen having a strong camp/preseason.

TEN

  • Moved base carry share from Tony Pollard to Tyjae Spears due to the Titans’ split RB usage in their first preseason game (and to get Pollard lower in the ranks).

MIA

  • Gave Chris Bell target share from Jalen Tolbert after Bell came off the non-football injury list on Monday.

KC

  • Bumped Emmett Johnson‘s ceiling after a strong preseason game led to him operating as the RB2 during portions of Chiefs practice on Monday.

August 16

ARI

  • Docked Jeremiyah Love‘s base and ceiling rush share after Love suffered a speculated high ankle sprain in the Cardinals’ first preseason game.
  • Bumped Tyler Allgeier‘s base rush share.

HOU

  • Docked Jaylin Noel‘s base and ceiling target share with news he suffered a hamstring injury on top of the broken finger he was already dealing with.
  • Bumped Xavier Hutchinson‘s base target share.
