Rivers quotes: Said Thybulle in a zone took his defense to another level, liked Maxey out there to take some pressure off Ben, said team is getting a lot better at zone and team is communicating better, said he liked the Ben at the five lineup but overall they were disorganized and that’s going to be a big focus in practice, said Thybulle was gambling too much earlier and now he understands the scheme better to keep him in the rotation.
Borrego quotes: Said Malik Monk earned his playing time, said Monk is more mature this year and he’s been doing more work behind the scenes, said LaMelo fit with the first unit (for Rozier) and he was great down the stretch despite early foul trouble, said he loves how his team is communicating on defense.
Stats and Notes:
*Joel Embiid did go through practice on Tuesday, so he should be a full go in a great matchup. Zeller has been a good matchup for centers with Nikola Vucevic and Domantas Sabonis (Zeller guarded him) having success against him. Plus, Embiid has seen big minutes after missed games with 38, 33, 23 (blowout) and 38 in his four games returning from injury. The 76ers also aren’t on national TV tomorrow against the Blazers, so he’d be more likely to sit in that one.
