Miami @ Baltimore
Team Totals: Ravens 24, Dolphins 20.5
Rookie HC Mike McDaniel’s Fins were the NFL’s most aggressive passing team relative to situational expectations in Week 1, especially understandable since their run blocking was among the league’s worst; RBs Chase Edmonds and Raheem Mostert combined for 17/41/0 (2.4 YPC) rushing versus New England. Against a Ravens pass defense still missing CB Marcus Peters (back) and having lost slot CB Kyle Fuller to a torn ACL, McDaniel would be smart to keep smashing the pass-game button, where Miami’s best skill-position talent is featured anyway. Tua Tagovailoa is a fine two-QB-league start. … Edmonds operated as Miami’s lead back against the Pats, out-snapping Mostert 38 to 25 and out-touching him 16 to 6. A natural fit for McDaniel’s pass-first leanings, Edmonds has long been a productive receiving back. Across all Week 1 games, only Seattle (14) permitted more running back receptions than Baltimore (13).
