Thursday Night Football
Indianapolis @ Denver
Team Totals: Broncos 23.5, Colts 20
Denver’s D/ST is a standout play versus 37-year-old turnover machine Matt Ryan, who’s thrown five picks, committed a league-high nine fumbles, and taken 15 sacks in four games. Ryan’s mobility is nonexistent at this stage of his career, and his old-man lobs have a tendency to float to the other team. … Purportedly nursing a “mild” high ankle sprain, Jonathan Taylor seems likelier than not to miss TNF against a Denver defense that just lost DE Randy Gregory to a multi-week meniscus injury after getting shredded by Seahawks, Texans, 49ers, and Raiders RBs for a combined 71/381/2 (5.37 YPC) rushing line in Weeks 1-4. Nyheim Hines is a pass-game niche back by trade, but the Colts’ top backfield alternatives are special teamer Deon Jackson and practice-squad journeyman Phillip Lindsay. Especially on a short week, I love Hines’ chances of leading Indy RBs in touches and snaps in a plus draw. As Hines’ receiving capability keeps both his floor and ceiling high, I’m locking him in as an RB2 with RB1 upside in full PPR.
