DraftKings Playoff Best Ball contests are snake drafts with 12 rounds, and a weekly starting lineup of QB, RB, WR, WR, TE, and FLEX. Our goal is to balance between drafting for advancing in the early rounds, and scoring the most possible points in the Super Bowl.
The general structure for DraftKings Playoff Best Ball tournaments is 1/6 advance, 1/6 advance, 1/6 advance, and then the remaining teams qualify for the final round. The below rankings incorporate player evaluation, team probability of advancing through the playoffs, and additional factors such as bye weeks, matchups, injuries, and the importance of playing in the Super Bowl.
For more strategy elements, we recommend reading Justin Herzig’s How to Beat Underdog’s Best Ball Playoff Tournament. While that article is specific to Underdog, the same strategy concepts apply. Understanding team construction is far more important than individual player evaluation.
The most noteworthy differences for DraftKings tournaments are TEs being their own position, andDK scoring (full-PPR with yardage bonuses). Also note DK tournaments all opened this week so there is no concern about competing against teams that drafted a certain way weeks ago.
NOTE: These rankings are for the DraftKings contests which start with the Wild Card Round.
