New England @ Denver
Team Totals: Patriots 23.5, Broncos 19
Visiting Denver in late January can’t be sold as a favorable environment for Drake Maye, but DC Vance Joseph’s Broncos defense sprang enough late-season leaks to cough up point totals of 34 (Jaguars), 26 (Packers), 26 (Commanders), and 30 (Bills) after Week 12’s bye. Joseph’s reliance on man coverage — the second-highest rate in the NFL (32%) — can render Denver vulnerable to QB runs, while Maye finished 2025 fourth among quarterbacks in rushing yards (450). The Pats are bound to encounter hiccups considering the atmosphere and Denver’s individual defensive talent, but I’m confident New England can move the ball enough to stay on schedule. … Through two playoff games, Rhamondre Stevenson has out-snapped TreVeyon Henderson 80 to 51 and out-gained him 6.3 to 2.6 in yards per touch. Stevenson’s fumbling woes are a thing of the past; Rhamondre hasn’t put the ball on the ground since Week 5 while vastly out-gaining Henderson over an extended stretch. Sunday’s matchup is not friendly on paper, but Stevenson is the Patriots’ clear-cut primary back at this point and will stay on the field regardless of game-script situations.
