Passing Game Outlook
Deshaun Watson enters 2024 having appeared in 12 games over the past three seasons. An uncomfortable and panicked player on game tape, Watson has been atrocious when pressured while not remotely resembling his dual-threat playmaking days in Houston. After averaging 8.3 yards per pass attempt in four years as a Texan, Watson’s YPA is a paltry 6.5 as a Brown. In 2023, Watson was severely outplayed by late-career journeyman Joe Flacco in the same Cleveland offense. I genuinely question Watson’s desire to keep competing in the NFL and consider backup Jameis Winston a realistic in-season threat to Watson’s job.
