As a refresher, The Drop List consists of players who are rostered in at least 50% of Yahoo leagues and are no longer must-have assets, recommended additions are available in over 50% of Yahoo leagues, the Watch List contains in-depth notes on fringe waiver adds, and Deep Leagues includes player notes on those rostered in 5% or fewer of Yahoo and FFPC leagues.

The Drop List

  • QB: Aaron Rodgers
  • RB: –
  • WR: –
  • TE: Dalton Schultz, Cole Kmet

The last time we saw Aaron Rodgers with a full season under his belt, he had fallen off a cliff with two top-12 finishes (and none higher than QB10) as the QB26 in points per game. His matchup-based outlook for Monday Night Football is equally as bleak given the combined projected volume between San Francisco (25th in drives per game in 2023) and a Nathaniel Hackett-led offense (third-fewest drives per game with Rodgers in Green Bay). I would start any of the suggestions below over the 40-year-old in Week 1.

The TE11 in points per game without Stefon Diggs in the lineup, Dalton Schultz’s 2024 fantasy appeal stems exclusively from his role with Texans QB C.J. Stroud. Taysom Hill is a better weekly starter wherever applicable (Yahoo, ESPN, and Sleeper).

Cole Kmet’s on-field usage is a concern for both the injection of talent around him and the arrival of Gerald Everett, who has rotated first-string snaps with Kmet throughout the preseason. All of the provided options will run (significantly) more routes in the season opener.

Overall Top 10

1. Jaleel McLaughlin
2. Ty Chandler
3. Andrei Iosivas
4. Gabe Davis
5. Dontayvion Wicks
6. Jordan Mason
7. Samaje Perine
8. Rico Dowdle
9. Greg Dortch
10. Ray Davis

For those looking to roster the best available player(s) regardless of position, the rankings above weigh every position minus the players’ actual positions for all formats. These are listed in the precise order I would prioritize waiver claims in those leagues for Week 1. Adjust for what you need on your roster — immediate touches, high-upside bench stashes, targets, one-week spot starters, etc.

Quarterbacks

1. Baker Mayfield, Buccaneers — Rostered in 33% of Yahoo Leagues (Suggested 1% FAAB Bid)
